An Arrest Warrant is an arrest order that is pending for a crime, infraction, or something pending in court. Ignoring an Arrest Warrant or detention, therefore, can have serious consequences — it is better to present yourself voluntarily in court and appear before a judge.

The longer an Arrest Warrant remains, the greater the chances that the consequences will be more severe. AT PROGRESSO LEGAL GROUP P.C. WE CAN HELP YOU! We have attorneys with more than 20 years of criminal defense experience to help you remove or eliminate an Arrest Warrant on your behalf.

Arrest Warrants

An Arrest Warrant (Bench Warrant, Arrest Warrant, Warrant) is the most common of detention orders issued by a judge. There are various reasons a judge issues a Warrant of Apprehension or Arrest:

A Judicial Arrest Warrant empowers law enforcement authorities to arrest an accused and bring them before a judge. If you believe you have a pending arrest warrant in California, you have the obligation to return to the court immediately, and until you do, you run the risk at any moment that the police will arrest you and bring you before a judge.

An Arrest Warrant is different from a Writ of Capture. In an Arrest Warrant, law enforcement obtains a formal document signed by a judge ordering the arrest of a person. An Arrest Warrant is issued after an investigation carried out by law enforcement through which they have reasonable suspicion (probable cause) to believe that a crime has been committed and that a certain individual (the accused) committed it. An Arrest Warrant authorizes law enforcement to arrest the individual. In most situations, people may not know that a Warrant exists until the police arrest them. In some cases, law enforcement officers may come to your workplace or home and arrest you there.

Experienced Attorneys in Arrest or Apprehension Warrants in the State of California

Our attorneys can make a difference in your case. For example, our attorneys can communicate with the police department and take the necessary steps so that you turn yourself in, rather than you doing it by yourself and giving statements. REMEMBER, EVERYTHING YOU SAY WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU!

If you wish to represent yourself in any type of charges, first of all, you may be arrested and detained as soon as you enter the court. An experienced criminal defense attorney can remove the Arrest Warrant or detention and in many cases prevent you from being arrested. At Progresso Legal Group P.C. we have experienced attorneys and we know the importance of the information and documents that the judge requires to obtain a quick resolution in your case. A good criminal defense attorney also knows how to explain to the judge and the prosecutor why a detention order was issued.
