Carrying a concealed dagger – especially one that can be used to injure someone – is a crime.
In other words, one may carry a pocketknife or knife hidden on their person if it is closed or if the blade cannot lock in place with a sheath.
Penalties
Carrying a concealed dagger or dirk is a wobbler offense, meaning it could be charged as either a misdemeanor or a felony. As a misdemeanor, it carries:
- Up to 1 year in county jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000. As a felony, it carries 16 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
